About Me

Hi, welcome to my professional webpage.

Professional Experience

I have been working in private and public research for more over 15 years. During the first years of my career, I explored several Computer Vision, problems, mainly applied to the photometric 3D reconstruction, then the application of Image processing algorithms to Digital Health issues. Currently, I’m head of the software development department (SED, in french) at Inria Paris Centre.

Recent years I have focused in Software Development, particularly in implementing good practices for software issues from research. Searching for optimal practices has led me to the road of MLOps practices, Kubernetes and Cloud Technologies. By the way, I got the CKA certification in october 2022.

I just wondered how things were put together. — Claude Shannon

Education

I successfully complete a Ph.D in Computer Science at the University Of Grenoble in 2011. The subject of my Ph.D thesis was around Computer Vision and it explored how to exploit the photometric information available in large photo collections of outdoor scenes in order to infer characteristics of the illumination, the objects and the cameras.

Before that, I got a master cum-laude degree and bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia.
